Playful Presents to help you live with Playful Presence.

Playful Presents are works of art that tell cautionary tales about the seductive digital world we live in.

Self Reflection Enabled through Technology

The Almighty #Selfie

A seemingly vain #selfie is actually a powerful tool that compels you to think deeply about yourself. By creating a self portrait, you learn and see who you are and how you want to present yourself to the world. Some of the greatest works of art in the world are self portraits (Leonardo Da Vinci, Frida Kahlo, Salvador Dali, Van Gogh).

Usually dismissed as a pathetic act of narcissism, our society's modern day obsession with taking #selfies is actually representative of the deepest question we all face - who are are and how do we want to be seen by those around us?

Shifts in Perspective

Modern technology should help you see yourself better, understand your own behaviors, tendencies, habits and actions more deeply. Show you aspects of yourself that you didn't even know you had or displayed. Humans can be blind and with the help of technology, you should be empowered to achieve complete self understanding.

Only from a place of sight, can you make informed decisions about your life. Only from a place of knowledge can you make decisions that help you change for the better. Without sight or shifts in perspective, we remain stuck in our feedback loops, never progressing.

Who Makes Playful Presents?

I do! I'm Tergel and I am the founder of Playful Presents.  I am also a UX designer, educated in Computer Science and Studio Art.

I want to build technology to help people learn more about themselves on their spiritual and emotional path towards self improvement.

I am open to all opportunities in the tech industry relating to mental health, spirituality and mindfulness. I want to create technology and products that help people learn about themselves to ward off our internal demons. I’m not talking about building technology for people who have specific mental illnesses, I’m talking about building technology that helps normal people who struggle with ups and downs, doubts and fears, happiness and sadness, the day to day stuff that bears down on us over time.

The sensation of being human is extremely taxing and our emotions, our thoughts and our belief systems are extremely complicated and to be frank, overwhelming. Just because you don’t have a diagnosable mental illness does not mean you don't need help. However, one great thing about people is that amidst all of this complexity- we are also capable of deep introspection and sight. We can see our emotions and our thoughts from an outside perspective and pass judgement on them from our belief systems. And then even more amazingly, we can think even more deeply about those thoughts and emotions.

I believe that technology is a tool that can help us see ourselves better.

And understand ourselves more - understand who we are, what we want, what we believe and how we think and feel. Sometimes we don’t know what it is that we are feeling or even thinking.

I believe that for humans to evolve and become more and more intelligent, we must learn to understand ourselves more fully and comprehensively. And to understand ourselves, we need sight. We need to be able to see. I believe that technology will give us the ability to see ourselves in ways we never have before. And when we are able to see ourselves through this new light or perspective, we become more conscious, more aware and more understanding of ourselves, and with that information, we can make different decision and only then can we evolve.
